Services

Service, diagnosis, and repair. The whole job.

Three kinds of work keep a standby generator ready for the next outage. We do all three, and only those, for homes across Greater Houston.

OIL · FILTERS · PLUGS · LOAD TEST

Maintenance

A standby generator only earns its keep if it runs the day the grid quits. We do the oil, filters, plugs, valve checks, and load tests on a schedule so yours fires on the first try, every time.

DIAGNOSE · METER · REPORT

Troubleshooting

When the controller throws a code or the transfer switch won't hand off, guessing gets expensive. We meter it out, read the controller, and tell you exactly what failed before we touch a part.

  • Fault-code diagnostics
  • Electrical output testing
  • Transfer-switch checks
  • Clear, upfront repair estimate

Repair

We're a service shop, not a dealer. We fix what's broken at a fair price and keep your existing generator alive for years, instead of pushing you toward a replacement you don't need.

  • Fuel and ignition repairs
  • Battery and charger replacement
  • Cooling and control issues
  • Major-brand service

Questions we hear before the first visit.

Do you sell or install new generators?
No. GenService is service and repair only. We maintain, troubleshoot, and fix the standby generator you already own, which means our advice is never tied to selling you a new unit.
Which brands do you work on?
Generac and Kohler home standby units make up most of our work, and we service most other residential standby brands as well. Call with your model and we'll confirm.
How often should a standby generator be serviced?
Most manufacturers call for service once a year or every 150 to 200 run hours, whichever comes first. After a long outage it's worth a check sooner.
My generator throws a fault code. Can you help?
Yes. Reading the controller and metering the system is exactly what troubleshooting is for. We find the real cause before quoting any repair.
